Award winning Bournemouth Hotels

After being shortlisted in December in two categories for the National Hotel Excellence awards, The Cumberland Hotel, Bournemouth yesterday went on to win outright both categories, beating many nationally renowned Hotels including the 5 star Goring hotel, London’s only independent 5 star hotel and favorite Hotel to Queen Elizabeth II..

Judges spent many months of investigation and completed over 60 documents per finalist to decide on the winners of each category, Judges include Simon Calder, David Battersby OBE, General Manager Michael Gray of Hyatt Regency London, General Manager Michael Shepherd London Hilton Park Lane, Ufi Ibrahim Chief Executive of the British Hospitality Association as well as many other industry heavyweights from large hotel Chains and Associations. Investigations included research into financial statistics, occupancy levels, customer service and business partnerships worldwide.

These awards are amongst the most prestigious and highly coveted in the tourism and hospitality industry, and the awarding of two of only eight category awards to a large Bournemouth Hotel is excellent news for the town and the resorts position as a major travel destination in Europe.
